6. June 5th Campaign Launch Event:

• Elizabeth May confirmed for June 5^th
• Comox suggested due to Elizabeth May’s schedule (driving to/from Sidney)
• Timing
  • 7-9pm*  (*later changed to 6pm-9pm)
• Location possibilities
  • Comox band hall
  • 40 knots winery
  • Berwick senior’s centre
  • Community REC Centre
  • Little red church
• Itinerary
  • Elizabeth will show up around 7:00 or 7:30 so we have to be flexible
  • Elizabeth will introduce Brenda and welcome her to campaign trail
  • Brenda will give acceptance speech
  • Elizabeth will run a Dutch Auction to raise money
• Food and drink
  • Dessert theme?

Brenda

• Prepare acceptance speech for June 5th

Sue

• Lead organizer for June 5^th event
• Secure venue
• Finalize programming (including intro/songs)

• Press release for June 5^th event

7. Budget and vote on Spending Authorization for NIPR engagement

Motion # 1: We allocate $4,000 of our existing funds as pre-election candidate-specific funds.

Motion # 2: We authorize disbursement of funds, to a maximum of $1,000, for the following expenses from those campaign-reserved funds.

1. a) approx: $369 plus personalization campaign starter kit (business cards, post cards, banner)
2. b) $490 for 1000 brochures

Motion # 3: We disburse $500 to Brenda Sayers to cover the costs associated with her attendance at Women’s Campaign School in Victoria the weekend of June 20 – 22^nd from those campaign-reserved funds.

8. Office Sharing with Courtney-Alberni Greens

• C-A Greens have offered to share their current office space for our campaign
• No monetary commitment required at this point (to be discussed)
• To be discussed at next week’s campaign meeting
