Blair Cusack

I graduated from the University of Calgary with degrees in Economics (Resources and Econometrics) and Education (Social Studies and Biochemistry). I taught high school in B.C., Alberta and Ontario, and worked as a technical analyst in the Petroleum, Hydro-electric and IT sectors.

Before retiring to Comox, I was the chair of the Juan de Fuca Economic Development Commission, president of my community association and co-chair of my community Land Use Committee.

I am a backpacker and competitive curler with four provincial titles, and have represented B.C. at the Nationals with my mates. I am also a history buff, enjoy travelling and I love my wife to pieces.  Read more about Blair.

Mark de Bruijn

The Comox Valley has been my home for the past 19 years. Before that I spent 3 years on Cortes Island.

Communication, environmental sanity, sustainable living and community building have pervaded my professional and personal life. These passions brought me to join the Greens in 2014, serving as CEO of our local riding for the past 7 months.

As a fisheries biologist in the 1970s I contributed to Canada’s first environmental assessment, ultimately striking down the Prudhoe Bay to Edmonton gas pipeline.

As a school principle, senior teacher, and college instructor I opened young minds to the wonders of science, and the responsibilities that go with living in a science-based culture.  Read more about Mark.
